facility giving you the opportunity to host your fims website with us.
Infrastructure
Hosting is located on IS' high-speed network infrastructure, at the confluence
of over 70% of South Africa's commercial Internet traffic. The IS backbone
provides the fastest international connection to the global Internet, and full
peering facilitating local routing of South African traffic. Customers' virtual
hosts - www.firmname.law.za - are hosted in this environment. The network makes
use of UPS and a constant voltage protector (CVP).
Server hardware
Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics and Intel Pentium-based Web servers are used
for virtual hosting.
law.za has redundancy policies to ensure
that hard-disks used are fault-tolerant. Should a failure occur, services can be
restored by switching to stand-by disks, automatically maintained using RAID
technology.
Backups
Backups are stored both onsite and offsite to ensure effective disaster
recovery.
Statistics
Statistics are available online, in graphical format, via a Web browser
interface. The statistics provide a brief summary of traffic to sites, while
previous month's statistics are highly detailed and include hit counts, traffic
transferred and hit demographics. The option to download the statistics as an MS
Word document is also available.
